You Might Have Missed It, but Our President Publicly and Proudly Announced He Is a Racist and It’s Not Ok.

Reading Time: 4 minutes Make no mistake, Trump knew exactly what he was doing when he proudly proclaimed his Nationalist identity. He chose his time with a precise calculation and laid public claim to that title for a purpose. It’s not a dog whistle when you scream it into a mic surrounded by the likes of racists Trump keeps company with.

This is not normal.

In a week when the news cycle is dominated by a President threatening a nuclear arms race and multiple pipe bombs in the mail, the fact that our president publicly declared his racist attitudes might feel like a footnote.

It’s not.

President Obama Delivers Democrats the Marching Orders for the November Elections

Reading Time: < 1 minute “This November’s elections are more important than any I can remember in my lifetime,” he said. “And that includes when I was a on the ballot.”

Nevada is a battleground state for Democrats this midterm election, with an open governor’s seat and Democrat Jacky Rosen running a tight race against incumbent Republican Sen. Dean Heller. And, as Obama pointed out on Monday, Nevada could be the first state to an elect an all-female legislature.

“This is not just about one person in the White House,” he said, pointedly avoiding naming President Trump in his speech. “This is about Congress and governor’s races and state legislative races…If all it took was being president, I would have solved everything.”

A Self-love Story About a Woman, a Man, and a French Bulldog Named August

Reading Time: 7 minutes A woman who doesn’t love herself is always a great risk of falling for a man who will take advantage of her inability to value herself. That kind of vulnerability is dangerous in the wrong hands. The risk is real and the consequences are steep. The bottom line is, if you don’t feel valuable, and completely worthy of only good things, you shouldn’t be dating at all. Being alone while you’re figuring yourself out is way better than being with an abuser, no matter how long it takes to get emotionally healthy.

Why You Probably Need More Magnesium Than You’re Getting

Reading Time: 6 minutes I knew that I was getting SOME magnesium already because I eat well and I take a high-quality multivitamin that includes it, but once I started learning more about how much we women need this vital mineral, I began upping my dosage significantly.

You might have heard the argument that we should be getting nutrients and minerals like magnesium through foods rather than supplements. And although I’m a huge proponent of eating wholesome and natural foods high in vitamins and minerals,  I don’t believe that we get enough through our food.

First of all, it’s a sad truth that even freshly grown veggies don’t carry the magnesium and other nutrients in the quantities they once did, due to farming practices which have deleted the soil of minerals. And, secondly, living in today’s world with all of its external and internal stressors (hello pollution, hormone disruptors, and a culture of overwork!), our nutrients become depleted far more rapidly than in previous times.
